Bell Street Stables is a Grade B Listed 1890s industrial building in Calton, Glasgow, built to house the cleansing department including its many Clydesdale horses. We were appointed by 21st Century Homes to deliver a phase of 75 new homes for social and mid-market rent in the Craigmillar area of Edinburgh. Each property was to accord with HfVN standards and to achieve Silver Standard as stipulated in SBSA. Purpose & Brief: Shettleston Housing Association acquired Carntyne Old Church from the Church of Scotland in 2010 after two congregations merged. The building had a wide open-span volume under a steel-framed roof – suitable for flats to be inserted and an adjacent church hall site- suitable for demolition and new-build intervention.
