Holyrood Distillery

Holyrood Distillery is bringing single malt whisky distilling back to the centre of Edinburgh after almost 100 years. From the creation of the brand identity to the development of crucial marketing & sales documents to supporting initial shareholder funding, working with architects, engineers and distillers to the grand opening, we have been at the centre of Holyrood Distillery’s history making journey.Flavour is at the heart of everything the brand does. It runs through all of the visitor attraction touchpoints. The overall design is colourful, animated and lively whilst being delivered with real confidence.Inspired by the explosion of flavours created at Holyrood Distillery, the fun and playful logo represents both the malts and the gins being distilled.Originally built as a railway maintenance shed, the historic distillery building has been imaginatively and sensitively updated with a contemporary wing housing the shop and bar. The main building is formed over three levels and visitors are guided throughout the production process by specially trained guides providing them with a uniquely entertaining distillery journey.The distillery tour is fun and interactive and includes a series of interconnecting rooms and experiences featuring colourful and informative graphics. Visitors can enjoy discovering the science of flavour, a flavour laboratory, the main stills and production area and finally an authentic whisky bond experience.At the end of the tour, visitors are asked to vote for their favourite flavour based on their experiences on the tour. Once complete, guests are invited to the comfortable distillery bar where they can sample more spirits, fill their own bottle from a selected whisky cask or try a cocktail or two overlooking the stunning views of Holyrood Park.As a final stop on the tour, the Holyrood Distillery shop is warm and welcoming.
