Alan Dunlop Architect
Alan Dunlop is an architect with a portfolio of award winning buildings; including the internationally recognised Radisson SAS hotel and Hazelwood School. He is a fellow of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland and an alumnus of the Glasgow School of Art.He has written extensively on architecture and urban design in a number of professional journals and had peer reviewed papers on architecture published internationally
As an educator, he completed a successful period as the Distinguished Victor L. Regnier Visiting Chair in Architecture at Kansas State University; the Mahlum Endowed Lecturer at the University of Washington and Chair of Contemporary Architectural Practice at the University of Liverpool.
He was the external examiner at XJTLU School of Architecture, Suzhou, China and guided the school toward RIBA accreditation in 2014. XJTLU is the first school of architecture on mainland China to receive accreditation from the RIBA. In 2019, he was appointed as the External Academic Specialist to appraise the joint architecture and urban design programme between the University of Dundee and the University of Wuhan in Hubei, China
