You + I

You + I is the new name for Clever Kombucha. Handmade in Glasgow, Scotland, they make all natural kombucha's, botanical teas and barley waters that will make you feel a world of good.Founders Alan and Kelsey asked us to help them rebrand their successful drinks business and design a new range of packaging for their established kombucha drinks. The business, founded in 2017, had grown organically and was relocating into a larger brewery and taproom, allowing them to increase production and expand their range of all natural drinks.They decided to change their name to You + I, making it easier to diversify their product range. The new lineup now includes contemporary barley waters, botanical teas and of course the drink that started it all, kombucha.A new name also provided the opportunity to reinforce the brand positioning; 'Drinks with benefits' and better connect the brand with people, whilst also communicating health and wellbeing.Our design choices were influenced by a desire for the brand to feel more human, warm and accessible. We chose a contemporary serif font and paired this with a sophisticated natural colour palette and hand-drawn illustrations to highlight the natural ingredients and botanicals.We worked with illustrator Ryn Frank to create a set delicate drawings for each of the drinks. Her style of fine-line botanical studies made her the ideal choice for the project.
