Julie is a chartered architect and senior partner at Brennan & Wilson Architects, founded in 2002. She has particular expertise in sustainable design and has worked on a wide range of projects from housing, offices, visitor centres, community facilities and museums. Julie is trained in Passivhaus design and has completed several projects to this challenging low energy standard. As an Associate at LDN Architects she was project architect for the Heritage Lottery funded extension and refurbishment of the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.
Julie combines architectural practice with design teaching at the Edinburgh School of Architecture & Landscape Architecture (ESALA) and is also a RIBA Part III examiner for APEAS.
For the past two years she has been President of the Edinburgh Architectural Association, during which she helped facilitate the Coarum programme of consultative workshops for architects focused on key issues affecting the profession today.
