Summary
Due to growth in staff numbers at Arsenal Football Club’s HQ, the Retail & Stadium Tours team faced relocation from the main HQ to an annex – an unfinished and uninspiring space at the base of the apartment block adjacent to the Stadium.
442 created a living brand showcase – a flexible workspace full of engaging, bespoke details building in the Club’s vision and values.
442 undertook detailed client consultation, detailed design and specification, including a bespoke ceiling solution that gets away from a ‘typical office’ approach, lighting design and F,F,&E specification, branding/graphic design and propping.
The palette ties back to references from the design of Arsenal’s Retail shops and features a completely bespoke mural on the long elevation, by local artist Charlotte Mann which incorporates images of best-selling products, football kit and scenes from around the Stadium.
Incorporating areas for individual task work, group work, collaboration spaces and social / relaxation spaces was achieved through close attention to planning, even within the challenge of a small and narrow footprint. ‘Smile in the mind’ details reflect the Club’s desire to engage employees meaningfully and create a space to be proud of.
