Summary
Liberton Barns is an innovative 4-bedroom, two storey townhouse development located on a site that used to house a derelict agricultural shed. Wrapped in timber and mimicking the original agricultural shed in terms of massing, form and materials the design connects the development to the semi-rural surroundings.
In a beautiful juxtaposition to the exterior the interior of the three townhouses of Liberton Barns are highly contemporary and innovatively focused around a central fully glazed void courtyard. The courtyard cuts through the roof and down through both floors of the property bringing an abundance of natural light into the townhouses.
In the early evening this development really comes alive, with the glow of light from the various spaces, glimpses of activity from behind the slatted screens and the backdrop of the observatory and Liberton Tower in the low level evening sun.
