Glasgow’s Merchant City will play host to a new creative product gallery and showroom this spring with the launch of ‘Il Salotto’.
Curated by property design specialist Sara Seravalli the gallery will be housed at 20 Bell Street within the Merchant Exchange building as a permanent home for the former #DesignPopUp event series.
The 3,300 sq/ft showroom will double as an events space for product launches and seminars centred on the world’s of design, property and architecture.
Inspired by the literary cafes which proliferated throughout Europe in the 18th century the event space will be hirable for product launches and seminars and will also be the base of a new podcast series.
Seravalli said: “Over the last decade of hosting our regular #DesignPopUp events, it has become very clear that the best ideas and concepts come from meaningful conversations between people who have a passion for what they do.
“These exciting and enriching conversations laid the foundation for Il Salotto, a place where the Scottish design, property, architectural and construction sectors can come together to showcase their work, discuss ideas and inspire one another. I’m very excited to launch our new product gallery and events space, in an area of Glasgow where creative businesses are thriving.”
Il Salotto will open its doors on 1 March.
