An Aberdeen design agency is playing its part in boosting creativity in the region by throwing open the doors to a new creative hub dedicated to nurturing talent.

Brand and digital agency FortyTwo Studio is sharing two refurbished self-contained offices at its new premises, a former church hall at 35 Mid Stocket Road, since moving in earlier this year. The spaces house a photography studio for hire as well as a creative base for like-minded individuals to get a head start in the industry.

Mark Kemp, founder of FortyTwo, explained: “Called simply 35, it is a co-working hub for the creative industries. It’s a place to let established practitioners, start-ups and students nurture their businesses and careers.

“We aim to support the next generation of talent by deepening our collaboration with universities and colleges. We want to show there is real scope to carve a career in the commercial creative sector in the North-east.

“By creating this collaborative hub, we can offer students real-life industry experience through projects and opportunities that build their individual areas of expertise.”

Beechgrove Church Hall dates from 1965 to designs by Mackie Ramsay Taylor Architects, a brutalist building now providing FortyTwo with divine inspiration.
