Summary
Warriors designed a strategic animation campaign to promote global creative festival, International Assembly, which welcomes designers and creatives from around the world for a symposium of inspiring events.
Our focus for the campaign was not on "What?" or “Why?” but “How?”.
How do we create? How do the tools we use impact our work and what we do?
We created an interactive digital tool which allows us to create an infinite number of innovative campaign visuals using the magic of code and gestural expression.
After uploading images, the tool can be used to draw lines which are created with images. Images can be uploaded. The user can then draw freely and experiment with the background colour, scale of images, animation styles, delay between drawing and visualisation, duration the images are on screen and then save their creation.
Setting a number of parameters for the tool allows an infinite number of expressions to be created within one coherent concept.
The tool is ultimately a drawing tool and at the core of all visual expression there are dots and lines. Artist Paul Klee described the line as being the foundation of all art and architecture so we named the tool after him – Klee.
Using the tool to create the campaign visuals offers an opportunity to create an infinite number of engaging social posts, advertisements and graphics quickly, each with their own unique flavour within the visual direction of the identity.
We are now exploring how the tool can be used to create more abstract graphic patterns and languages for the event presentations and from there we will explore how it can be integrated with lettering and typography.
The tool is open, free-to-use and we encourage all to enjoy taking a break, and play! Tool created in collaboration with Kiel Mutschelknaus. Please feel free to use the animation tool and create your own:
