Wowkie Zhang!

Revenant was commissioned by LA agency ZebraLabs, to design, create, and animate a fully CG music video for Chinese artist Wowkie Zhang. Everything from character design, environments, motion-capture, facial rig, lip-sync to final grade was given careful consideration to achieve a seemingly effortless animation. Working closely with Director Jean-Charles Charavin, we conceptualised a world in which we would transform the artist into a bespoke avatar. For this we took reference from Bauhaus aesthetics to simple toy designs, and fusing the two together we created a visually striking, energetic piece. From Beijing, China to LA, California, the mo-cap was then choreographed and recorded in Paris at Mocap Labs and then all brought together in-house at Revenant HQ in Glasgow, Scotland.
